Swenson Technology is a global company that designs and manufactures chemical process equipment used for chemical separation. The company specializes in evaporators, crystallizers, dryers, filters, and other related equipment, including evaporators and crystallizers used in the production of potash from solution mining. ==Company history== Swenson has been in business for more than 100 years and was founded as the Swenson Evaporator Company in 1889. The founder, Magnus Swenson, was an engineer and inventor who developed and patented many chemical engineering designs and processes. Former Swenson engineer and president, Richard Bennett, was influential in the design and engineering of crystallizers, and the Draft Tube and Baffle (DTB) Crystallizer was his invention. Swenson engineers continued to contribute to the field of chemical engineering and built upon the work of the company's founder. Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook heavily cites the work of Swenson engineers, and Bennett and his work are cited repeatedly. Swenson recently completed a multi-million dollar expansion of its research facilities and test center in Harvey, Illinois.
